Running laugh

I am runner. Well, at least I run, and I tell myself I'm a runner. Kinda along the "I think I can" mantra. I'll be increasing my long runs in training for the marathon (its funny how mindsets change, an hour of running is now a "short" run and now two hours or 12 plus miles is "long"). Anyhow, I read about training, and such and came across this and laughed out loud. It seems like a good hyperbole to me.

"A myth that floats through all kinds of runners' minds, including the beginner, intermediate, and elite runner, is that walking is the enemy. The thought process goes like this: "You run, and this is good. You are proving and improving yourself; you are determined; you are a moral person. Whereas when you walk, this is bad. You are lazy; you are a loser; you don't deserve to be loved." (Burfoot 2) What would happen if there was evidence that said walking is alright? Your conscious can be clear and you are free to add walking to your running routine."

Anyhow so minor mindset shift, and I'll be experimenting with walk/run intervals.
