I gotta tell you about a few books that I have really enjoyed chewing on....

The Story of a Life Lived for God

"How did the faith and prayers of a humble coal miner affect the course of World War II?"
This Welsh man, born in 1879, led such a beautiful, yeilded, and adventurous life of faith on three continents and doesn't say, but rather demonstrates what it is to be an intercessor and a modern, living demonstration of the gospel.
Written by Norman Grubb, a a notable missionary who, as a Cambridge student, was one of the founders of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

The Rewards of Fasting
Experiencing the Power and Affections of God

Fasting is essential because it answers our cry for more of God. Fasting sounds unapproachable, and reguarded by many as "radical" even. Fasting is not only for the extremist, the radical, the saint, it is for ordinary, weak people (who enjoy chocolate and food in general :) who desire more of God, and who are willing to answer this paradoxical invitation He gives us. It's not meant to be torture- it's an amazing grace. This is a very insightful, applicable book and I experienced what scripture calles a "sign and wonder" many times while going through this book with the Lord...:) It was nice to have it "varified" by another person as well so I didn't think I was seeing things, but that is another story. This book was co-authored by Mike Bickle with Dana Candler (wife of a fellow native Tulsan, Matt, my same high school grad too, Go Chargers :)

End-Times Simplified:
preparing your heart for the coming storm

End-Times stuff? That's bizarre, right? Why should I care, its too difficult to understand anyhow, right? Well, you CAN understand the End-Times, this book addresses some great questions, outlines scripture and gives some accessible explainations. There are answers and the Bible is clearer than we often think.
This one is written by David Sliker
